It's Not What You Eat; It's What You Don't Eat

My dad's first one-liner. It's actually a lot friendlier than it seems. What it's basically saying is that when you choose what you are eating, just think of all the things you aren't eating. Case in point: I went out for brunch for a friend's birthday. Before I went I told myself- I will only get an ice coffee. Now before my diet I would say that yet still peruse the whole menu and usually end up getting something totally good yet totally not good for me. Not this time. This time I was armed with my dad's pearls of wisdom. I barely had to open the menu. How's that for not eating
It's also a lot more pleasant leaving a restaurant with a heavier wallet than usual. Just saying

Intro

Hi All
First, let me start off by saying that although the name of my blog is 'The Crunch Diet', I have no intention of chronicling a crunch diet, as I do not believe in crunch diets. The reason for the name of the blog is simply because someone had taken the name I originally wanted, so I had to add the word 'crunch'. NBD
Three years ago or so, I successfully lost a significant amount of weight. However, I put that weight back on and then some over the last two years as a dorm counselor. Loved the job, hated the side affects (ala weight gain and never ending phone calls). But now that I'm free I want to lose the weight again. And I have a good incentive to do it- my parents will send me on a European vacation if I, and I quote, make good strides' end quote. My dad also tries to give me one-liners that are meant to inspire me to keep losing weight. More about those later.
It's a lot easier said than done. So I decided to chronicle my second journey down the weight-loss lane. Maybe that will motivate me to stay on track. Well, either that or the one-liners.
